Intro
Section:
The
16 bar intro trombone begins with the rhythm section and an ostinato figure
over the New Orleans beat. One trumpet and one alto sax enters playing
angular melody lines, the rhythm section continuing with puctuations from
brass and woodwind.
Bridge Section:Rhythm section playing unison rhythmic line leading to full
ensemble, playing previous melody line played by 1 trumpet and 1 alto sax.
Solo Section: Features Baritone sax with rhythm/ bkgd brass , leading to baritone sax and drum duo. Duo ends with cue into full ensemble section,variation of melody and background to 8 bar drum solo, to full ensemble ending , variations on the first theme, to end of piece with three ascending fermattas.
